Word Highlighting

The episodes highlight the word or sentence being read by the narrator to help children follow along, keep their place in the story, and develop their reading skills through active listening.  This feature can be turned on or off, according to the child's preference.

Practice Makes Perfect

For children who want to practice their reading skills out loud, the reader can click on any word in the story to have the narrator repeat the word with perfect articulation.

A Customized Reading Experience

The stories can be read either in auto-mode or manually, allowing children to turn the pages at their desired pace.  This gives young readers the flexibility to enjoy our stories according to their reading ability.

Professional Narrators

The stories are narrated by professional voice actors and actresses who bring excitement and drama to their narrative.  The narration is enhanced by spectacular sound effects and music, which furthers the listener's experience and adds atmosphere to the tales.

Building Vocabulary for Toddlers

In our stories for toddlers (ages 1-4), the reader or child can click on designated words within the story to activate a picture pop-up.  This feature will teach children word associations and increase their vocabulary.

Parent/Teacher Discussion Questions (coming soon)

Each of our stories concludes with thought-provoking discussion questions.  The questions are intended to spark conversation and to test the child’s analytical skills.  Stimulating prompts relating to the episode will spark the children's imaginations.

Polling (coming soon)

At the end of each of the Ben the Mouse episodes, we offer a polling function.  This feature will build up the child’s confidence by offering multiple choice questions that the child can answer.  The questions are presented in  both written and narrated form.  Children will also be able to view  how other subscribers answered the same question.

Discussion Room (coming soon)

At the end of every episode, the reader has an opportunity to rate the stories; write a simple review; or comment on their favorite part(s) of the story.  We recognize that children  enjoy sharing views and ideas, and therefore, we offer a feedback forum that allows them to express themselves in a meaningful way.

Creative Art Activity (coming soon)

At the end of the Ben the Mouse episodes, there is a fun activity for children to try.  They will be challenged to use their creativity, and then they can share their creations with the entire STFM family.  Children can upload a picture of their artwork or craft directly to our Art Gallery where they can also include their name, age, a picture of themselves, and the name of their home city.

Share Your Creativity with the STFM Community (coming soon)

For the readers of the Ben the Mouse and Fern the Fox series, each episode will conclude with an activity question relating to the story that will challenge children to express themselves on video.  You don’t have to download any software as it works directly off our site. Just like the STFM art gallery, children will be able to upload their video creations to the STORY TUBE FOR ME video gallery where they can share their productions with the entire STFM community.

Monitoring 

All of our public forums, whether video, graphic or text are strictly monitored by STFM management.  No content will be posted on the site without our prior review. We will not post any content that is inappropriate for children, nor will we post any content that is derogatory in any way.  We want to maintain a healthy environment that will promote and encourage creativity in children without them being subjected to unhelpful criticism.
